about us
We are a group of pseudointellectuals. Each month we come together to eat, drink, and discuss a movie or a book. This blog is a chronicle of those meetings.
Thanks to Julie for hosting that event. Junot, sorry that we were so quiet - I think that we were just trying to absorb all the wondrous and crazy ideas that are jammed into your work. (Also sorry folks we didn't have a camera so there are no pics.)
If there are any of you reading the book please catch up on your Stan Lee and Frank Herbert. May you conquer your inner fuku.

Class Distinctions
Thanks to Gabriella and Phil for hosting the first bookclub meeting of the year. Keeping with the theme of "the relation between classes in pre-World War I England" from Atonement, we watched Robert Altman's Gosford Park. We had a fantastic turnout due in large part from the massive influx of new members from the Whitehead. Next we will be discussing Junot Diaz's The Brief Wondrous life of Oscar Wao.
